Whichever way you look at it, there is no denying the French culinary influences that have shaped the Vietnamese cuisine into what it is today.Taste of Vietnam offers you the very best that Vietnamese cookery has to offer on an amazing journey through this fascinating country. Not only will we show you the diversity on offer in the Vietnamese cuisine but you will also learn to make some staple dishes of each region yourself through our carefully selected cooking classes. This sample program shows you the difference in cuisine from North to South, both in top-end restaurants and authentic street food experiences.

Day 1: Hanoi arrival (-/-/D)

Arrival in Hanoi. Hosted dinner at a local house.

Day 2: Hanoi- Lunch with famous Chef (B,L,-)

For breakfast, you enjoy a bowl of the famous phở bò (beef) or phở gà (chicken) noodle soup,Vietnam’s number one dish. We make a city tour with Ho Chi Minh Complex, Temple of Literature. Lunch at Anh Tuyet restaurant. Ms Anh Tuyet is regarded as the best Chef of Hanoi’s cuisine.

Day 3: Hanoi- Halong (B,L,-)

Today we transfer to Ha Long Bay for a luxury overnight cruise in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. You have lunch with fresh seafood, attend a cooking demo and food-carving class on board while observing the stunning surrounding landscapes in magnificent Halong Bay

Day 4: Halong- Danang (B,Brunch,-)

Spend the morning continue cruising on the bay. After brunch, we will leave the cruise and then transferred to Noi Bai airport for flight to Danang. Arrival in Hoi An.

Day 5: Hoi An Walking & Cooking Class Tour (B,L,-)

This morning we head to the market. The Chef will lead us to the market and explain about herbs and spices used in local cuisine. We attend after that a cooking class to learn to prepare some special local dishes. Lunch with foods prepared by ourselves. Transfer back to town for a Walking Tour with Phuc Kien Assembly Hall of the former Fukienese community, the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Tan Ky ancient house.

Day 6: Hoi An - Hue (B,L,-)

This morning we leave for Hue. On the way we have a visit to Museum of Champa Sculpture to see the diverse collection of Champa sculpture dating from the 7th to the 15th centuries. We will stop on Sea and Cloud Pass, the border of Hue and Danang city. Lunch at Lang Co beach resort. Arrival in Hue.

Day 7: Dalat - Bird Watching (B/L/-)

For breakfast we have the very famous Bun Bo Hue(beef noodle in Hue style) at a local restaurant. We then make a city tour with the sights in Hue: Dong Ba market, the Imperial City. We enjoy a boat trip along Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. After lunch, we will visit colorful interesting Incense,Conical hat making Village. We then drive to Tu Duc Tomb, an amazing tomb complex completed from 1864-1867. We make a stop for tea break at special local café shop: Vi Da Xua. Dinner atMadame Ha’s Tinh Gia Vien restaurant, a great meal in a beautiful setting. Overnight in Hue
Day 8: Hue- Saigon (B,-,-)

Today we take a short flight to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon

Day 9: Dalat - Saigon (B/-/-)

Today we make a city tour in Saigon with its main attractions: the Reunification Palace, the former residence of the President of South Vietnam; the War Remnants Museum, the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 is one of the city’s major landmarks, the Saigon Post Office. In the afternoon, we visit Giac Lam Pagoda – Saigon’s oldest pagoda; FITO Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine and finally Ben Thanh Market – a fantastic place for bargains of every kind! 

Day 10: Dalat - Saigon (B/-/-)

Today we drive to the Mekong Delta. On arrival in Cai Be town in noon, we enjoy a boat trip to visit Cai Be floating market, this whole sale market of agricultural products. Along the way we stop at small handicraft and candy factories. We cruise our private boat through an intricate and bustling maze of waterways and canals. Lunch with the popular “Elephant Ear Fish” and “Green Claw Shrimp” at the home of a local Bonsai gardener before further exploring the delta. We get to our home stay in the afternoon and then go for a stroll around the village, learning more about charming rural life in South Vietnam. Prepare an authentic family dinner and then enjoy the meal with a local family.

Day 11: Me Kong Delta- Saigon (B,L,-)

After breakfast with the friendly hosts, we take the boat to the wharf. On the way to the wharf, we will visit a nursery garden, enjoy fresh tropical fruited from garden and then see a ceramic workshop. On arrival in Vinh Long city, we drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Overnight in Saigon

Day 12: Saigon Departure (B,-,-)

Free until be transferred to airport for our next flight.
